Short version
Most of PitBoard works without an account — if you just want to browse the schedule, set a ZIP and radius, and toggle reminders on some races, no sign-in is required and nothing about you leaves your device. If you choose to sign in (so we can save your favorite tracks across devices) or subscribe to PitBoard Pro, we store the minimum data needed to make those features work: your email address, an optional display name, your saved tracks, and your preference settings. We never see your credit card — Stripe handles all billing. We don't sell anything to anyone, ever. We use lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics that don't follow you around the web. Outbound links to streaming services, ticket sites, and retailers may include affiliate tags so PitBoard can earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Who runs this site
PitBoard is operated by Shayfer Mosness, an independent developer based in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, USA. Contact: [email protected].
What we store on your device
PitBoard uses your browser's local storage to remember your preferences across visits. Specifically, we store:
- Your saved ZIP code and radius (so we can show nearby tracks).
- Your series filter selections (NASCAR, IndyCar, F1, NHRA, Local).
- Which races you've toggled reminders on for.
- A small cache of ZIP-to-coordinates lookups, so we don't re-geocode the same ZIP every visit.
- If you're a signed-in Pro subscriber, a cached copy of your selected theme so the page loads with the right colors before our server is contacted.
This device-side data is never transmitted to PitBoard's servers (with the exception of the theme cache, which is just a local copy of a setting you already chose on the server). You can clear it at any time using your browser's "clear site data" feature, or by clicking Clear in the Local Racing Setup card on the home page.
If you create an account
PitBoard offers an optional account for users who want to save more than three favorite tracks, sync their preferences across devices, or subscribe to PitBoard Pro. Creating an account is free, requires only an email address, and uses passwordless "magic link" sign-in — we never ask you to create or remember a password.
When you sign in, we store the following on our server:
- Your email address (so we can send you sign-in links and the emails you've opted into).
- A display name (optional, defaults to the part of your email before the @, and only ever shown to you).
- Your current tier (free or Pro).
- The IDs of tracks you've saved as favorites.
- Your preference settings — selected theme, whether you want race reminders, how far in advance, whether the "my tracks only" filter is on, and whether you want the weekly weekend-preview email.
- If you're a Pro subscriber, a random token used to generate your private calendar feed URL (so your calendar app can subscribe without exposing your account).
- Anonymized records of which reminder, schedule alert, or weekend digest emails we've already sent you, used purely to make sure we don't send the same email twice.
Server-side data is hosted on Supabase, our database and authentication provider. Supabase's privacy practices are described at supabase.com/privacy.
You can delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Account deletion removes your profile row and all of the data listed above from our database. If you have an active Pro subscription, please cancel it before requesting deletion (or include the request in your email and we'll cancel it for you).
If you subscribe to PitBoard Pro
Pro subscriptions are billed and processed by Stripe, a regulated payment processor used by millions of businesses.
PitBoard never sees, stores, or has access to your credit card number, CVC, or any other payment instrument data. When you check out, you enter your card details directly into a Stripe-hosted form. Stripe handles all charging, renewals, dispute handling, and tax. Stripe shares with PitBoard only what's needed to identify your subscription: a Stripe customer ID, a subscription ID, the active subscription's status (active, past due, canceled, etc.), and the price tier you chose. We do not receive your card number, billing address, or full payment history. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time by emailing [email protected], or directly through Stripe's customer portal (link provided on request). Cancellation is always one-click and takes effect at the end of your current paid period.
Emails we send you
Email delivery is handled by Resend, our transactional email provider. The emails we may send include:
- Magic link sign-in emails — sent only when you request to sign in. Required for account access.
- Race reminder emails (Pro only) — sent on the schedule you choose in your settings. You can turn these off in your account at any time.
- Schedule-change alerts (Pro only) — sent when a race at one of your saved tracks gets postponed, canceled, or rescheduled. Bundled with the reminder toggle.
- Weekend-preview digest — a Friday email summarizing the upcoming weekend's races at your saved tracks. Sent to all signed-in users (free or Pro) by default. You can opt out by replying to any digest.
We do not send marketing emails or promotional newsletters. If we ever launch a newsletter, it will be opt-in only and will be explicitly called a newsletter.
What we don't do
- We don't ask for a password — we use passwordless email sign-in.
- We don't sell, rent, or share any user data with anyone outside of the operational providers listed on this page (Supabase, Stripe, Resend).
- We don't use cross-site advertising trackers.
- We don't share data with data brokers.
- We don't store your credit card or banking information — Stripe handles that.
- We don't profile users for advertising or build behavioral profiles.
Geocoding (turning your ZIP into a location)
When you enter a ZIP code, PitBoard converts it to approximate latitude and longitude so it can find tracks within your chosen radius. This conversion uses a public geocoding service. The ZIP is sent to that service to perform the lookup. PitBoard does not associate your ZIP with any other identifier and does not store ZIP lookups on a server — the result is cached in your browser only.
Analytics
PitBoard may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (such as Plausible or Simple Analytics) to understand aggregate page views, referrers, and which features people use. These tools are cookie-free, do not track you across websites, do not build a personal profile, and do not require a cookie banner under GDPR or CCPA. If we add or change analytics tooling, this page will be updated.
Affiliate links and outbound clicks
Some links on PitBoard — including links in the "Where to watch" panels, any future "Get Tickets" buttons, and any "Race-Day Gear" recommendations — may be affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, PitBoard may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These commissions help keep the site free.
Outbound links may include UTM parameters (e.g. utm_source=pitboard)
so the destination site knows the click came from PitBoard. UTM parameters do
not identify you personally.
Children
PitBoard is a general-audience motorsports schedule. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect that. Material changes will be noted on the home page or via any newsletter we may launch in the future.
